Dr. David Mark Rekar, MD

Dr. Rekar was born and grew up in New York City. After completing his undergraduate work at Queen's College where he double-majored in mathematics and pre-med, he went on to graduate from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 1980, Thomas Jefferson's university, and one of the finest in the nation.

After several years of internship and residency in Internal Medicine, he became interested in integrative and complimentary alternative medicine which he has pursued since.

In the mid 1980s Dr. Rekar was a solo practitioner in his own preventive medical practice.

In 1997 he became the Medical Director of Universal City Medical Group, a multi-disciplinary practice with a holistic approach to many different medical problems.

In his leisure time, Dr. Rekar is an avid sportsman enjoying tennis, hiking, basketball, and swimming. In addition, he is a pianist and composer with approximately 60 copyrighted songs to his name. He has been married to his wife, Cindy, since 1983 and currently resides in Sherman Oaks, California, along with his cat, Sabu, and dog, Ivan, who was rescued from the East Valley Shelter. Dr. Rekar has been a proud member of The Humane Society for many years.
